Christmas Traditions

I love traditions. Especially Christmas traditions. Our family has many.

If you don’t have any Christmas traditions, I encourage you to start some!

Here are a few ideas:

1. Drive around and look at Christmas lights.

2. Do an advent calendar with your children.

3. Watch the movie Elf!

4. Bring cookies to your policemen and firemen.

My Lesson Plan System

If you are anything like me, you love the cute lesson planner and grade books. They are pretty pricey though! Instead of buying a lesson plan book, I decided to make my own. It was extremely easy and fun to do!

Here’s what I did!

What you’ll need:

I have three spirals,one for each of my children. Depending on how many subjects your kiddos have, use a Post It for each subject. My kiddos have 5-6 . They are Bible, Reading or Creative Writing, Spelling, Math, and History. They have some extra curricular things they do (Piano and Rosetta Stone  Spanish). I will also put that in my plans so I don’t get busy and forget to have them practice piano and do their Spanish lesson.

I put 5-6 on each page, and write small so I can fit everything on it 😊 On each day, when we start school, I’ll take out my spiral for a certain child and give them the Post It for the certain subject we are doing.When done, they’ll bring me the Post it, and I’ll put a line on it with a highlighter and put it back on that days page. This won’t work for everyone, but it worked for me 😊

Five Tips For Easy Trips With the Troops:)

Summer is quickly approaching! I'm sure many of you will be taking some great road trips. With that being said, here are five tips that I hope will be a help to you.

1. Always, Always, Always have dramamine, Bonine, or some other type of car sickness medicine with you! Plastic bags and baby wipes are also good to have.
2. Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Aleve, Benadryl, or any other type of medicine you think any one in your family might need. This will prevent have to go to the store!
3. Get lunchables to save you from having to stop and eat. This will save time.
4. A portable Dvd player, music, or story cd's are good entertainment for your kiddos. I don't like for my kids to bring a bunch of things to do. It's just more stuff to keep up with!
5. When packing for your children, get the one gallon size ziplock bags. Label each of them with the days your going to be at your destination. Put the entire outfit for that certain day in the bag.  Make sure each child has his/her own backpack.I have done this for my children for years and it has been the best thing I could have done! Everything stays ORGANIZED!
